Quantitative MRI of organ-specific vascular permeability and immune cell dynamics by combination with mass spectrometric imaging (B02)

Subject Area Nuclear Medicine, Radiotherapy, Radiobiology
Term since 2021
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 431460824

Project Description

The aim of this project is to develop combined in vivo MRI and multimodal ex vivo imaging including mass spectrometric and spectroscopic imaging methods at single cell level. MSI shall be used to develop fully quantitative MRI methods as part of our comprehensive multiscale imaging strategy to analyse immune responses in disease models and patients in vivo. Using the exact relation between quantitative MR parameters and elemental and molecular patterns in tissues, immune cell migration during inflammatory responses can be characterized.
